It’s a weekend of “final nights” for me, two tours come to an end in South London and I shall be in attendance at both, giggling and dancing my little socks off like a chimp at a tea party.
Tonight I’ll be venturing to the far end of the Jubilee Line, all the way to Greenwich and the O2 Arena. The reason? I’m going to see the wonderful, hilarious, slightly unhinged but ever so good looking Russell Brand, as his Scandalous Tour draws to a close. An avid listener of the now defunct BBC Podcasts (the less said about Sachsgate, the better), I’ve missed the little scamp since he’s been off air. I’ve got big expectations having never been to a big name stand-up show, and will generally be trying my very best to woo him; “Pick me, Russell, you dashing skin tight hunk you, pick me!” Wish me luck.
On to Saturday and I’ll be catching The Prodigy as they hit Brixton Academy for the final night of their tour. They’ve been playing Wembley all this week, but added one final date at their unofficial home in Brixton which is now completely sold out. After seeing them play Brixton last December, where tickets were going for anything up to £300 outside the venue, I know it’s garanteed to be a stormer and I can’t wait for this late night gig to kick off.
